Technical Advisor on the Rainbow Project: A former artist in residence, Michael Jones McKean, wished to create a “rainbow on demand” over the roof of the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in Omaha, NE. Information on some basics of atmospheric optics was provided. Maps of the areas near the Bemis Center where the rainbow would be created were generated based on three-dimensional projections of ray paths. Assistance in creating an indoor demonstration of the rainbow optics was also provided. Some details of the project are given on the Bemis Center page and the artist’s personal web page.
